Hospitals Reduce Costs Among “Super-utilizers”

Patients suffering from chronic illness bear the term “super-utilizers” by those in the health industry. These patients are only 1% of total hospital goers, but are 21% of hospital costs per year. This population also struggles with uncoordinated care, and utilize emergency rooms more often than primary care doctors.
