A new study at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center found that the ratio of nurses to patients significantly affects the outcomes for patients. The study had a ratio of 4 children to each nurse, and found that by keeping this, the readmission rates for children were reduced significantly. The findings are hopeful for the reduction of preventable hospital readmissions and could hopefully be expanded to other populations, such as older adults. To read more, click HERE.
