Hospitals are Charged Penalty Fees by Medicare

N.C. Baptist Hospital will have reduced Medicare reimbursements between $730,000 and $980,000 for not improving enough in the size health categories as defined by Medicare. This is part of a larger effort to reduce Medicare spending by reducing readmission rates in hospitals. Overall, there are 71 hospitals nationwide who will be penalized in the upcoming year.
